JAM

December 4th, 2009

You know by now that I love the world of Twitter. It’s brilliant for so many reasons. Keeping in touch with family, friends and those who are mad enough to follow (thank you btw!) It’s perfect for me to see what you’re up to and for you to see what I’m doing.

It’s also perfect for being asked to star in a movie… Well obviously that doesn’t happen every day, but when I got the tweet from Adam (who is one of the three teenagers at buyacredit.com who have grand plans to make a lesser known Jules Verne story into a movie) And he asked me if I’d be interested in taking part, I was there like a shot!  He and his 2 mates Ben & Toby have come up with an ingenious plan to get their big movie ‘Clovis Dardentor’ funded and filmed. They are currently selling the closing credits to the, as yet, un-made film. You spend a quid and they use your money to make their film. Simple and original. If you would like to support these young entrepreneurs go to their website and if you’re on twitter follow @buyacredit.

Now obviously, to get the cash they needed to prove that they were up to the job. That’s where Twitter came in. They asked me and people like Stephen Fry, Patricia Hodge, Annette Badland, Lynda Bellingham, Gary Rhodes, Frank Skinner and Paul Daniels if we would appear in a ’short’ film that would showcase their passion and ability… they were very persuasive…. and we all said yes, as did the crew and behind the scenes support squad! The result is ‘JAM’ and is here for you to watch. It was made purely by pulling in favours and by the guys and their very supportive families and friends holding car boot sales etc. It was also shot for free in the grounds of their old school.  Rest assured, none of the money raised for the main feature was used for ‘Jam’. That is still in the bank waiting for the green light that will set them on their way to being movie moguls.  I’m supporting them 100%, why? because when they are as big as Speilberg, hopefully they’ll remember and come on This Morning again!
