Text Santa are thrilled after their Christmas charity appeal raised more than £4million!

Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley launched Text Santa on television on December 11. Followed by a second show on Christmas Eve presented by Ant, Dec and Holly Willoughby.

The proceeds raised will now go to groups including Carers UK, Help the Hospices, the Samaritans and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. For a full list of the charities Text Santa supported click here.’

On Christmas Eve, it was announced Text Santa had raised £3,441,000.

However on This Morning, Holly Willoughby revealed on the show that the final amount has risen to £4,120,000.

Holly said "Well done and thank you to all of you. It was our first year of Text Santa and it's been a real treat to be a part of it."

Phillip added: "Yes, you've got to explain something brand new, you've got to get the message across about what we're doing and the charities involved.”

"So this is a fantastic result – first time and over four million quid. Brilliant. Thank you so much."
