16th January 2012
Pixie Lott peformed at the opening of on the second episode of Dancing on Ice singing her latest single ‘Kiss The Stars’. She not only performed she also got involved with ice and was carried by the pro skaters from the stage to a podium in the middle of the ice rink during her song.
Contestants Laila Morse and Corey Feldman received the lowest public votes this week and had to fight for their chance to stay in the ‘Skate-off’. The judges opted to save Corey after the skate-off. So EastEnders actress Laila became the second person to leave Dancing on Ice last night.
Laila has been suffering with a shoulder injury since she injured it during rehearsals. Laila said “Being voted off has done me a favour, I can go and get my shoulder sorted out and have a nice holiday somewhere!”
She added: “The highlight of the day for me was doing it live and just having a good time. The only think I’m gutted about is that I won’t be seeing (professional partner) Lukasz (Rozycki) anymore!”
Laila and Lukasz scored a disappointing 9.5 points out of a possible 30 from the judges, after performing a routine to ‘My Guy.’
The actress, who said that she’s looking forward to being able to take her grandkids on the ice now she's learned some skating skills, continued: “I’ve had a great time on the ice, injury or no injury, I have enjoyed myself and I met nice people at the end of the day.”
She also told the remaining skaters to “go out, have a great time, do the best you can do and work hard”.
With just 13 celebrities remain in the competition - Jennifer Ellison, Rosemary Conley, Matthew Wolfenden, Corey Feldman, Chico Slimani, Sébastien Foucan, Sam Nixon, Heidi Range, Andy Whyment, Charlene Tilton, Chemmy Alcott, Jorgie Porter and Mark Rhodes.
Louie Spence said last night he was particularly impressed with the male talent that took to the ice.
The dancing star said “It’s all about the boys this week,I mean Chico’s been a big surprise.”
Former X Factor star Chico scored an impressive 18.5 when he skated to Wild Things, with partner Jodeyne Higgins, and it seems Louie wished it was Chico time more often, if his comments are anything to go by.
“As for looking hot, melting the ice and on fire, I would say if you put Matt (Matthew Wolfenden) and Chico together on the ice, it would be a swimming pool.”
Matthew Wolfenden topped the scoreboard, beating last week's favourite Jorgie Porter.
