Phillip’s Pea Sandwich ‘Recipe’

So ever since Phil shared his pea sandwich recipe on the show this morning, he’s been inundated with Tweets about the unusual snack! Here it is if you’d like to try it out yourself: 

Phillip’s Pea Sandwich ‘Recipe’

Garden peas - slightly minted if you’re feeling adventurous!

White bread

Butter

Salt & Pepper to taste

 

  • 1. Spread each slice of bread with a good helping of butter.
  • 2. Generously pile the peas on to one side of the bread and season well.
  • 3. Voila! Enjoy your tasty snack.

Hadn’t got any bread ~ No peas!!~## But did have Icecream & choc sauce ~DELICIOUS!!!~## I give *pea Sandwich 10/10 :0)

Pea sandwich with lots of mint sauce is the best!!

Also fish fingers, cheese and tartar make a great sandwich :)

you have to try this: white bread, generous amount of butter, hot sprouts: mashed onto buttered bread, a little white pepper and salt, ab fab!

Sandwich delicious, but prefer grainy bread, and prefer mayo to butter. Add a couple of fish fingers, and that’s lunch!

You MUST add ketchup to this wonderful sarnie and if you need comfort food then ketchup and a little mash!

You could use ciabatta and throw a bit of bacon in with the peas for a bit of a twist

Hi Phil
Yes I tried your pea sandwich (with mint sauce) and was very nice. I did another one and I added some boiled ham to the sandwich, very tasty.

For best results Marrowfat Peas should be used, and if feeling adventurous add alittle Brown Sauce preferably Daddies.

it’s nicer if the peas are cold mushy minted peas!

I used to do this with the peas left on my plate after my roast dinner, its even better if you have a bit of gravy left to dip it in! :)
