Telly can occasionally be very glamorous, or it can put your feet very firmly on the ground. I think two parts of this week’s video show this very clearly. At one end of the spectrum, Jason is sporting a 25 grand jewel ‘tie’ from Boucheron (borrowed :)) which, as the judges were introduced, clearly gave him some extra bling. And at the other end of the scale, lovely Danniella let me record her in make-up just before she got completely into her beautiful skating costume, not quite the glamour you saw on the screen, but very funny nevertheless.

Half way through the show, in one of the commercial breaks, Jayne Torvill told me quietly “they’re scaring me this week” in fact the skaters made our collective hearts skip a beat on a number of occasions. I had the Flip rink side as Mikey fell heavily just before the show, you can see the worry in Holly’s face.  Everyone had a slip or stumble of some sort and quite frankly Kieron is very lucky to still have his teeth! And it’s Kieron and Brianne who got special mention on the show for sheer depth of tan, I called it ’skating mahogany’ on the show. Further investigation of the studio corridor uncovered their secret… though the fake tan was left untouched I found a tin of Ronseal dark oak varnish hidden in the bin.
