Two curses on DOI this week, one broken, one continuing. It’s a well known fact that green is as unlucky a colour for the boys as pink is for the girls. As Holly and I have the skaters best interests at heart we decided to confuse the bad luck or at least deflect it away from the guy who wore green.. Gary Lucy! We took the unprecedented move to wear green ourselves, despite the obvious risks to us both!
Thank goodness it worked, we didn’t wear quite enough to keep him out of the Skate Off but it was obviously just enough to stop him from getting chucked out! Sadly, we should also have had a hint of blue to save Bobby Davro too. As you can see these concerns kept us occupied right up to the opening titles!!
The other curse which is far more worrying and deeply concerning to me, is that of the custard donut! Dancing On Ice is famous for supplying the cast and crew with them inbetween the main show and the Skate Off. They have always been jam, not fancy, just straight forward jam. For the first two shows I have put my hand into the jam donut tray and been the only person to pull out the random custard one! Is this a set up, sabotage or some wicked, sick, evil plot? Whatever it is, it has to stop!!!
If you love the show, you’re going to love our marathon extravaganza this Sunday. All 12 skaters together for the first time. Settle in for a great night on the telly, for me, this may well be long enough for 2 donuts!
