What a fantastic start to the new series of This Morning, actually the programme’s 21st year. There’s no doubt that 8 weeks off certainly galvanises the nerves on show one after the summer, but if I was feeling a few butterflies, Holly was coping with Dr Dolittle’s Giant Lunar Moth! She texted me last night and said that she felt like it was Christmas Eve, and then today at 7am she phoned me in the car as I was sitting in the back, going through the script and the first thing I heard was an excited yelp and the words ‘Oh My God’!!
Even two minutes before we went live Holly said that it didn’t feel real. The next 2 hours flew by, she was assured, bright, funny, sharp and well on the case, in fact a true delight to spend the morning beside. We had a glass of bubbly after the show and then Holly left the building with about 10 bunches of flowers and stepped out in front of London’s paparazzi. Thanks for all your tweets, I’m still looking through them, but you seem to have taken to @hollywills just as much as the This Morning team have.

In the 21st year of this iconic show it was fitting that one of our first messages of congratulations came from Richard & Judy. Well done Holly, I think we’re going to have a ball.
